India recorded 31,222 new cases of Covid-19 in the 24 hours ending 8 am Tuesday, taking the total tally to over 3.30 crore.

Out of these, 3.92 are active cases while 3.22 crore people have recovered after testing positive. With 290 new deaths, the total death toll now stands at 4.41 lakh.

MeaIndia administered more than 1 crore Covid-19 vaccine doses on Monday, for the third time in past 11 days, the Union Health Ministry said. With this, India’s Covid-19 vaccination coverage crossed 69.68 crore (69, 68, 96,328).

More than 92 lakh (92, 00,822) vaccine doses were administered till 7 pm today. Earlier in the day, PM Narendra Modi said India will be administering 1.25 crore covid vaccines daily in coming days.

The Kerala High Court on Monday directed the Centre to allow scheduling, on CoWIN portal, of second Covishield dose after four weeks from the first for those who want to take it earlier than the present suggested gap of 84 days.

Justice P B Suresh Kumar said that if the central and state governments can permit persons traveling abroad to choose between early and better protection from Covid-19, there is no reason why the same privilege cannot be extended to those here who want early protection in connection with their employment or education.
