Dengue: 2 die, 207 hospitalised in last 24-hr

The country reported two deaths and 207 fresh dengue cases in last 24 hours till Monday morning (Oct 11), said the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS).

With this, the number of fatalities from the mosquito-borne disease reached 78 this year.

In the 24 hours, 162 dengue patients were hospitalised in Dhaka and 45 other people in other places across the country, said the DGHS release.

Some 935 patients diagnosed with dengue fever are receiving treatment in the country as of Monday morning. Of them, 758 patients were receiving treatment in 46 government and private hospitals in Dhaka while the remaining 177 were undergoing treatment outside Dhaka.

Some 20,336 patients have been admitted to different hospitals with dengue since January while 19,323 patients have returned home after recovery.
