US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti said that the India-US relationship is not based solely on China, but is an alliance that is 'a force of good for the world'.
While addressing the Carnegie Global Tech Summit held on December 6, he also put emphasis on the India’s diplomacy in the global world terming “India loves geometric diplomacy”.
He added that there was 'a pcy' between the two countries where both need to figure where the relationship is going.
Garcetti was in conversation with Harsh Vardhan Shringla, Chief Coordinator, India’s G20 Presidency.
He further said that ties between the two countries are growing increasingly broader and deeper, and the two sides are trying, not only to negotiate the differences but also the next steps.
“It’s like our Facebook status for a long time, between the US and India, was ‘It’s complicated’. Now, when you log on, it’s like, They’re dating.”
Garcetti agreed that China was an important aspect of India-US ties, but denied the assessment that the US-India relationship was based around China.
