Your son is very smart

FROM UN HEADQUARTER: A number of incidents have taken place in the ongoing United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York and some of those were informal.

Some are as follows:

US President Barack Obama met Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina three times during current UNGA but none of those was formal.

On September 23, US President Obama and First Lady Michele Obama hosted a dinner in honour of world leaders. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina along with her family members joined the dinner.

Becoming satisfied with the hospitality of President Obama and First Lady Michele Obama, Shajeeb Wajed Joy posted a status on his facebook page regarding the dinner. Reports have already been published in media in this regard.

Later on September 24, before the debate on development at UN general assembly, President Obama came to join inauguration ceremony where Sheikh Hasina also attended. In the first chance, Obama told Sheikh Hasina, “Your son is very smart and intelligent.” Sheikh Hasina only smiled in reply.

On the other hand, whenever Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined several sessions of UN general assembly other world leaders came to her and applauded her saying, “Your country is doing really well.”

Because of Bangladesh is one of the top achievers in realising the MDGs, the country is getting more importance to global leaders. Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, in her several speeches, also highlighted the achievement.

Meanwhile, a high-level political forum meeting was going on. World leaders were discussing about a sustainable development in future. At one stage electricity cut off and but few moment later it was restored. But Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina did not spare the USA for the power cut. She instantly turn on her microphone and said that electricity problem is not only Bangladesh’s problem even here it happened.

Hearing the words, world leaders clapping their hands supported the Bangladesh Prime Minister.
