DHAKA: This week’s beauty tip is on ‘Faux Bob’. Take your makeup box and try…
Bouncy Curls
At BET’s Black Girls Rock event in New Jersey, the ever-glamorous American actress Kelly Rowland complemented her sleek red carpet getup and glowing makeup with soft, buoyant curls.
We love how the deep side part gave the look a graphic element, and how the ringlets were structured without looking too stiff.
‘We wanted to go a bit more sexy and sophisticated,’ said her hairstylist Larry Sims, who started by blowing out Rowland’s damp strands with a round brush, reports InStyle.
‘We established a deep side part for a heavy fringe look by taking the round brush across her eyebrow and forehead.’
For the most-natural effect, Sims used a large-barrel curling iron to add movement, wrapping individual sections in varied directions. He followed by smoothing out the style with a boar bristle brush.
‘I took her hair section by section and pinned above her shoulder to create a faux bob. We finished with a hairspray from got2b to keep the volume in place and the style sexy,’ Sims added.
If you find that your hair is too slippery to hold the style, anchor the look by cris-crossing two bobby pins in an X shape, then spritz over the top with a dry shampoo or hairspray.
This creates friction, and will ensure that the look stays perfect all night.
