'How I start my day'

As they say... well begun is half done. I treat each day as a new one, leaving the last day behind me, and looking at the day ahead with a smile on my face and gratitude in my heart.

I start my day by thanking God for another beautiful morning, and yet another day of my life.

I follow it up by sitting in silence and meditating. I have a little question and answer session with myself. Morning is the best time for meditation and reflection because of its tranquillity. It's also the best time to be away from the distractions of social media, telephones and emails.

I utilise it to plan and create a laser focus for the day ahead.

I believe that everything worth doing is worth doing well. Then I turn my attention towards my body. It is highly beneficial to get some physical activity in the wee hours of the morning; it sets the tone for the day. It doesn't have to be an exercise in the gym.

You can do anything - cycling, jogging, swimming or even dancing. I personally like shaking a leg (Bhangra) to some Punjabi tune.

Then I'm ready for breakfast.

I personally believe that one should avoid eating a heavy breakfast because it makes you feel sluggish. I've dispelled this `big breakfast' myth with real-life research. Morning is also the time to tap into our inner potential, which remains untapped for most of our life.
