Haldiram’s Tok Jhal Mishti

Savoury snacks to munch on while sitting in front of the television on a lazy evening or the sugary syrup to slurp on to indulge your sweet tooth; over the years India’s famed brand Haldiram’s has brought out products to tend to these very appetites. Now, Spron Distributors has brought the very tempting snacks and dessert range of Haldiram’s to Dhaka.

Inaugurated just about two and half year ago, this store at Banani-12 carries all things Haldiram’s. Although this modest-sized store already carries a huge range of Haldiram’s product portfolio, 57 new products are due to hit the shelves in the coming weeks.

Spron Distributors, the official agents of Haldiram’s here, are planning on opening a couple more outlets in Dhanmondi and Uttara in order to cater to a wider clientele.

Haldiram’s offers both savoury and sweet snacks all packed and ready to eat. If you are looking for crunchies like chanachur but in flavours a little different than traditionally available locally, you should surely drop by here.

The products at this store are displayed very neatly on shelves lining the walls, with prices attached on each of them, and are very easy to browse through without any help from store representatives. They offer a variety of chanachur such as All in One, Chat Patta, Khatta Mitha, Supreme Mix, Masala and Tok Jhal Mishti. They also carry several sizes with the smallest ones costing around Tk.170-200 and the largest around Tk700. In near future Spron Distributors going to offer more discounted price to reach their products which can be affordable for everyone’s wallet. Said Mr. Abhinay Parab

They also have bhujias, moong dal, bhel and nimki, which go perfectly with evening tea. Also the mini samosas they carry are ideal to serve to guests if you are rushed for time. If you are nuts for nuts then you will like the kaju dalmoth, badam dalmoth, badam laccha and their boxes of baked almond sticks. The best thing about Haldiram’s is that all their products carry zero cholesterol.

To indulge your sweet tooth Haldiram’s has three flavours of son papri, namely Elaichi, Orange and Kesar in packets of three sizes. The store also carries badam barfi priced at around Tk.850, bundiya and canned roshogolla.

For those who prefer to carry unconventional gifts when attending dinner parties, you may wish to pick a goody basket from here all wrapped and ready with a collection of their items and priced at Tk.1950.

If in the next few months the Haldiram’s store in the city makes a name for itself, Dhaka dwellers may expect to get a real taste of the brand here. Just like they have in India, Haldiram’s will send in their chefs and add to the offerings — bhel puri, pani puri and the likes along with sweets made right here at the shop from their very own recipes.
