To achieve work-life balance is the ultimate challenge

To achieve the optimal work-life balance is the ultimate challenge for any woman, especially the ones who choose to work after having children. Despite practically being superwomen, the nagging guilt of not doing adequate justice to both roles is perpetual, and debilitating. However, I feel I work best when I'm put in a 'sink or swim' situation. That's when positive energy and time management skills come to the fore. I also ensure that I maintain an efficient support system both at work and at home.

Being a fit woman
Good sleep, wholesome vegetarian meals and weight training help me stay fit.

Energy high and happiness
Optimistic, cheery people always put me in a buoyant mood. Freshness of thought and action helps alleviate lethargy. I also get the skip back in my step by travelling.

Risk-taker or a micro-planner
I don't think both are mutually exclusive.
On a day-to-day basis, I am quite the micro planner but life constantly throws curve balls where all planning fails and leaps of faith (risks) need to be taken!

Spiritual diet
Deep breathing gives me the right energy. Prayers and nature walks keep me spiritual
and positive.

Handling failuresuccess
Say a prayer of gratitude.

Crisis management
I consult my peers and seniors on the best way ahead. However, ultimately I take charge and ride out of the situation as peacefully as I can, while the motto 'this too shall pass' reverberates through my mind.
