Home-made masks for a glowing complexion

Age, pollution and sun exposure, all these are reasons for our skin to lose loses its radiance.

But the consistent usage of natural ingredients in your skin care routine can surely undo most of the damage & impart a healthy glow to a dull face. These are some home remedies that can help diminish dark spots, acne marks, pigmentation & sun tan to reveal your true complexion.

Oranges and Lemon
Take dried orange and lemon rinds, powder them & store it in an air tight jar. Mix a teaspoon of this powder with curds to make a vitamin C rich face pack. If you use it twice or thrice a week for 20 minutes you will see your acne marks vanish and will remove tan & enhance complexion.

Green tea
Loaded with anti-oxidants, green tea, can give your skin a boost. Take 3 teaspoons of green tea and squeeze in some lemon juice in it, add 1 tsp Fuller's earth. Apply this mask, and remove it once it's dry. It helps oily & acne prone skin. Green tea which tightens pores, lemon juice removes tan & blemishes and Fuller's earth controls oiliness & clarifies skin.

Red lentils
Take 3 teaspoons of powdered masoor dal, 12 tsp honey & coconut water. Mix well and apply while gently massaging it on the face. Leave it on for 20 minutes before washing it off with lukewarm water. Masoor dal makes the skin glow, coconut water helps to reduce dark spots & honey nourishes & brightens the skin.

Almond milk
Grind almonds which have been soaked overnight. Make a fine paste and strain. Apply this almond milk onto your skin before bed time, and leave it on overnight. It is highly effective for dry & sensitive skin.

Fresh pineapple
Pineapples can curb the signs of ageing leading to fair & youthful skin. Take 1 teaspoon of pineapple juice and add equal amount of coconut milk & 12 tsp of honey. Apply it for 15 to 20 minutes and wash when dry. This is an excellent skin lightener which works wonders for deep seated tan.
