DHAKA: This week’s beauty tip is on ‘Soft Smoky Eye’. Take your makeup box and try…
Soft Smoky Eye
While a smoky eye often runs the risk of looking severe, American actress Jessica Alba got the effect just right at the Los Angeles premiere of ACOD thanks to some careful blending and well-placed shadow.
By concentrating the darker hues at the outer corners of her eyes, the sexy, smoldering effect is still apparent without dominating her entire look.
To create a similar effect, we recommend layering on a primer to ensure the eye shadow doesn’t crease or fade.
The easiest way to go is to start with a grey-toned cream shadow, and then build up colour as needed from there.
Use a dome-tipped shadow brush to work a black hue into the outer corners of your eyes, then use the same brush to blend a translucent powder or bronzer over the edges to soften.
Add a swipe of liner along your top lash line, then use a small brush to smudge it slightly. Continue the liner along the lower rim of your eyes, then finish with a generous coating of mascara.
