BNP man stabbed to death in Fulbaria

Bangladesh Nationalist Party's (BNP) joint convener of Fulbaria municipality unit, who was stabbed on March 26, died at a hospital on Friday (March 31) midnight. 

The deceased Anisur Rahman Anis, 50, was former commissioner of Fulbaria municipality Ward No. 6. He was also a former president of Fulbaria College unit Chhatra Dal and former senior joint convener of Juba Dal.

According to family members of the deceased, a man named Lalin Mia, after refusal of getting money from Anis, allegedly stabbed him with a knife in Natokghor Lean area Mymensingh town on March 26 afternoon.

The injured was taken to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital in critical condition. Later, he died at the hospital while under-going treatment midnight.

Kotwali Model Police Station Officer-in-charge Shah Kamal Akhand confirmed the matter.

A case has been filed with the police station, he said, adding the accused in the case Lalin Mia was sent to jail after his arrest.
