At least 14 people were killed and 14 were injured in a collision involving a truck, a private car and an autorickshaw in Gabkhan bridge area of Jhalakathi district on Wednesday (April 17). 

The identities of the deceased could not be known immediately.

Jhalkathi Superintendent of Police Mohammad Afruzul Haque Tutul confirmed the matter.

Eyewitnesses said that a cement-laden truck rammed an easy bike and private car, leaving the casualties.

On information, fire service personnel rushed to the spot and tried to rescue the injured people.
