Jashore school teacher dies from ‘heatstroke’

A secondary school teacher died after he fell sick due to ongoing heat at his school in Jashore Sadar upazila on Sunday morning.

Deceased identified as Ahsan Habib was an assistant teacher at Amdabad Secondary School in the upazila.

Jashore General Hospital supervisor Dr Abdur Rashid said, "Ahsan Habib was brought dead to the hospital."

According to the deceased's relatives, the teacher went to the field before going to the school in the morning for work. Later he went to the school and fell sick.

He might have died from heatstroke, they claimed.

"But we still not get the final report. Emergency physicians suspect that he might have died of cardiac arrest," Dr Abdur Rashid added.
