Heat wave continues in most parts of country: Met office 

The Bangladesh Metrological Department (BMD) predicted that the heat wave with different intensities continues in most parts of the country as there would be no further change in this situation within the nearest possible time.

According to the latest weather bulletin, very Severe heat wave is sweeping over Jashore and Rajshahi districts and severe heat wave is sweeping over the rest part of Khulna division and Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Naogaon, Pabna and Nilphamari districts. Mild to moderate heat wave is sweeping over Barishal division and the rest part of Dhaka, Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions and Mymensingh, Moulvibazar, Rangamati, Chandpur, Noakhali, Feni and Bandarban districts and it may continue.

Rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty or squally wind is likely to occur at one or two places over Chattogram and Sylhet divisions with hails at isolated places, said the met forecast valid for next 72 hours from 9am today.
 
Weather may remain mainly dry with temporary partly cloudy sky elsewhere over the country.

Trough of low lies over West Bengal and adjoining area.

Country's highest temperature on Sunday was recorded 42.2 degrees Celsius at Jashore and minimum temperature today was 20.0 degrees Celsius at Srimangal.

The highest rainfall for the last 24 hours till 6am today was recorded 18 millimeters (mm) at Srimangal.

Day temperature may rise slightly and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

Due to increase of moisture incursion, the discomfort may persist, the met release added.

The sun sets at 06:26 PM today and rises at 05:25 AM tomorrow in the capital.
