Teen stabbed dead in Chattogram

A teen boy was stabbed to death and another injured in an attack allegedly by a juvenile gang in Akmal Ali Pocket Gate area under Patenga Police Station in Chattogram.

The deceased identified as Md Mehedi Hasan, 19, of Gorinda Bazar in Bhola's Lalmohan upazila, who used to live in Chattogram.

The injured Md Rifat, 19, of Side Para under Patenga Police Station was undergoing treatment at Chattogram Medical College Hospital (CMCH).

According to city’s EPZ police, a couple of days ago there was a dispute between the two over a trivial incident. Both are garment workers. When they met at Railbeat area around 9:30 pm on Thursday night, the incident took place due to another argument.

Nurul Alam Asheq, in-charge of CMCH police outpost confirming the matter said locals rescued the injured and took them to CMCH where doctors declared Mehedi dead on arrival.

He said Rifat was undergoing treatment in critical condition.
