PM seeks vote for AL in Keraniganj

DHAKA: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, also ruling Awami League president, on Thursday sought vote for Awami League in the next general elections.

“Make a commitment by raising hands that you will cast vote for Awami League in the next general elections,” she indicating her audience.

The premier came up with the plea while addressing a mass rally at Kadamtoli Nuru Islam Commander Chattar in the afternoon.

Sheikh Hasina also told her audience that the incumbent government developed many sectors, including education and mobile technologies.

Regarding talks over polls-time government, Hasina also told her audience that the invitation to opposition leader Khaleda Zia is still on.

The AL chief alleged that BNP-Jamaat alliance killed innocent people during hartal: “They are also working against anti-Islamic sentiment,” she said.

Regarding talks with the Opposition Leader, she said, “I called BNP chairperson to hold a dialogue and urged to withdraw hartal but she refused.”

Hasina alleged BNP has two qualities--killing and corruption.

She claimed that she urged Khaleda not to observe birthday on August 15 as it is her fake birthday but she refused.

Sheikh Hasian told her audience: “I want to fulfill my father’s dream by developing the country. Awami League government has given priority to country’s education sector and become success.”

The prime minister claimed that when BNP government was in power, the country was in a dark situation and they did not develop the country.

Awami League believes in communal harmony with Muslims, Hindus, Christians and Buddhists, she claimed.
