Another 60-hr hartal from Monday!

DHAKA: Main opposition BNP-led 18-party alliance is mulling to call another 60-hour non-stop nationwide hartal from Monday demanding election-time non-party neutral government.

The shutdown will start from 6:00am Monday and continue till 600pm Wednesday.

A reliable source of BNP said the decision has taken in meeting of Standing Committee members, the highest policy making forum of the party, on Thursday night.

The leaders took the decision in principle to enforce another three-day hartal from Monday.

But the duration of the strike may reduce or increase a day in 18-party meeting.

Source said that alliance leader Khaleda Zia convened 18-party meeting on Friday afternoon.

Later, BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will announce the fresh hartal through a press conference on Saturday.

Earlier, the 18-party alliance observed 60-hour hartal on October-27-29 and another 60-hour shutdown on November 4-6 to press home the same demand.
