BRAMHANBARIA: At least 30 people including with five policemen were injured in sporadic clashes between picketers and law enforcers in different parts of the district on Sunday while 18-Party-called 84-hour countrywide hartal was underway.   

Police and local sources said that the clashes took place after arrest of District BNP general secretary Jahirul Haque Khokon.

The agitating pro-hartal activists set fire in tires and hurled over 100 cocktails during the clashes.

RAB and police fired several rounds of tear shells and rubber bullets to take the situation under control.

Assistant Police Super (ASP) M Jahidul Islam told banglanews that law enforcers took the untoward situation at around 2.00pm.
