1 killed as pickets chase in city

DHAKA: A man was killed and three others were injured as a bus rammed pedestrians as pickets chased with petrol bomb on Saturday evening during 18-party called nationwide 72-hour blockade.

The deceased was identified as Habibur Rahaman, 35.

Sources said a passenger bus driver lost its control over steering as it was on rush to avert petrol bomb attack by pickets and rammed passersby near Chowdhury Para area at Malibagh in the city, leaving Habibur and other three injured critically.

Later, critically injured Habibur rushed to the Dhaka Medical College burn unit and he died there.

Officer-in-Charge of Ramna Thana Moshiur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
