NATORE: A Jubo Dal activist was shot dead and 10 others sustained bullet injuries in a clash between Awami League (AL) and BNP, during hartal hours in the District on Monday morning.

The deceased was identified as Sujon, 28, son of Salamat of Kanaikhali area of the district.

Locals said a clash erupted as the activists of BNP and Jamaat-e-Islami attacked on a procession while AL nominee for MP candidate from Natore-2 Shafiqul Islam Shimul was going to Upazila Council office to submit his nomination paper.

However, 11 people from both groups sustained bullet injuries including Sujon in the clash.

On the way to the hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

The rest of the injured were admitted to local clinics.

Later, police rushed to the spot and took the situation under control.

General Secretary of district BNP Aminul Haque confirmed the matter to banglanews.
