Violence ominous signal for opposition

DHAKA: Terming ongoing violence as ominous signal for opposition, Communications Minister Obaidul Quader on Monday categorically said that the consequence of this violence would last longer.

The ruling Awami League lawmaker came up with the observation while talking to journalists at his secretariat office.

Regarding the political consensus, he said, “Temporary consensus with opposition can be possible ahead of election. But the consequence of violent movement of opposition will last longer.”

About extension of blockade by 18-party, he said that through this extension opposition proved that their movement was going under control of militants.

Obaidul also urged the opposition to sit for consensus so that militants could not control the potentiality of the country.
