DHAKA: Jatiyo Party chairman, also former president HM Ershad apprehended that he would be sent to jail during ongoing turmoil.

“I will take 8/10 more people with him if I am sent to jail,” he warned.

He came up with the apprehension while talking with party leaders and activists at 6:00am Saturday.

At that time, his supporters assured him that they rather die than allowing taking him to jail.

The leaders and activists said Ershad that he had taken right decision and requested him to stand firm.

HM Ershad said, “There is no congenial atmosphere for election in the country. People are panicked seeing violence. They will not come to vote center. So I decided not to participate in the upcoming election.”
