JD-cops clash injures 10 in N’ganj

NARAYANGANJ: At least three people sustained bullet injuries and 10 other were injured in a clash between Jubo Dal activists and police during the third day of countrywide blockade called by 18-party alliance and half-day hartal called by local Juba Dal in the district town.

Witnesses said district Jub dal activists brought out a procession, in support of the hartal, in Galachipa area at around 8:30am. At one stage they locked into a clash with police.

Law enforcers fired shotgun bullets and teargas shells to bring the situation under control, leaving at least 10 people injured, of whom three received bullet.

Meanwhile, police nabbed eight people from the spot.

Narayanganj Sadar Model Thana Officer-in-Charge Manjur Kader told banglanews that they opened fire from the shot guns to bring the situation under control. Someone might have sustain bullet injury in this connection.
