Movement to continue if demand not met

DHAKA: opposition BNP warned that the movement would continue if the government does not pay heed to the demands of non-party caretaker government during the polls-time.

Standing committee member Nazrul Islam Khan came up with the forewarning in a press briefing at the chairperson’s Gulshan office on Wednesday afternoon.

In a written statement, he told the journalists that the country has turned into a police state and the people have become captives now.

He also said: “If such the situation continues, the government has to take the responsibility of killing, anarchy and all other unpredictable incidents.”

Senior BNP leader asked the government to accept the demand of non-party caretaker government for the polls-time.

He also criticized the killing and missing of party leaders and activists.
