War crimes witness house attacked in Faridpur

FARIDPUR: Jamaat-Shibir activists attacked residence and business organization of war crimes witness Ranajit Kumar Nath alias Babu Nath in Rathkhola area of the district early Sunday.

Babu Nath was a witness of war crimes case against Jamaat Secretary General Ali Ahsan Mohammad Mujahid and another convict Abul Kalam Azad alias Bachchu Razakar who were awarded death for committing crimes against humanity during Liberation War in 1971.

Victim Babu Nath said a gang of Jamaat-Shibir activists hurled petrol bombs to his house and his shop in the area at midnight.

Expressing discontent, he further said, “After 42 years of independence, I am along with my family living with insecurity.”

Kotwali Thana Officer-in-Charge Syed Mohsinul Haque said police personnel are on alert position in the area to avert further untoward situation.
