BCL leader chopped dead in Laxmipur

LAXMIPUR: A Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) leader was chopped to death by Jamaat-Shibir activists in Ludhua Bazar area under Raipur upazila of the district on Sunday evening.

The deceased was identified as M Mirazul Islam Miraz, 27, organizing secretary of Laxmipur district Chhatra League and son of Abul Kalam, resident of the area.

Locals said a gang of miscreants chopped him mercilessly in the area at 5:00pm, leaving him injured critically.

Later, he succumbed to his injury on way to the hospital.

Laxmipur district Awami League president M Alauddin said Shibir activists killed him centering political  conflict.
