LALMONIRHAT: District Jamaat-Shibir called dawn-to-dusk hartal (shutdown) for Tuesday in the district protesting the killings of three Shibir men in a clash with police at Patgram upazila on Sunday.

District Islami Chhatra Shibir President Sirajul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

He said the shutdown will start from 6:00am and it will continue till 6:00pm.  

On Sunday morning, three Chhatra Shibir men, including its Patgram upazila unit president, were killed and 15 other injured in a fierce clash with police in Kafirbazar area in the upazila of the district.

However, local administration imposed section 144 in Patgram upazila, activated from 4.00pm to 6.00pm.
 
Patgram Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews. “Additional police forces were deployed to avert further untoward situation,” he said.
