Bullet-wound Jamaat man dies

JOYPURHAT: An activist of Jamaat-e-Islami, who sustained bullet injuries during clash with police in Haltri area under Sadar upazila, succumbed to his injuries early Tuesday.

The deceased was identified as Abdur Rahman, 45.

He breathed his last at a private clinic in the capital around 1:00am.

Puranapoil UP chairman Saiful Islam confirmed the matter to banglanews.

District town unit of Jamaat’s secretary Abdul Momin Fakir told banglanews, “The body has reached at Joypurhat Adhunik Hospital for autopsy.”

On last Sunday, during hartal protesting execution of war crimes convict Quader Mollah, Jamaat-Shibir men clashed with police at Haltri intersection of the town, leaving a Van driver and two Jamaat men dead and injured others.
