Cop-BNP clash in N’ganj: held 4

NARAYANGANJ: BNP leader and activists locked into clash with law enforcers in Araihazar upazila of the district on Wednesday morning, the second day of 72-hour nationwide blockade, called by 18-party alliance.

Sources said BNP activists brought out a procession and tried to do subversive acts in Pachrukhi area of the upazila at around 7:am and later, police held an activist with petrol.

Besides BNP activists brought out a procession and put  barricade on Dhaka-Chittagong highway road in Porinda area of the upazila at around 7:15am.

On information, police rushed to the spot and a chase and encounter chase occurred between police and law enforcers.  

Later, police detained two activists with petrol.

Besides, police nabbed Narayanganj city BNP infomation and reseach affairs secretary Ohidul Islam Khan Chhakku on Tuesday night.

Inspector of special branch of district police Mainur Rahman confirmed the matter to banglanews.
