BNP-cop clash injures 15 in Jhenaidah

JHENAIDAH: At least 15 people including four police men were injured in a clash between BNP activists and police in Kabirpur intersection under Shailkupa Upazila of the district on Monday.

The injured police men are- Sub-Inspector Abdul Aziz, police men Rubel, Sabed Ali and Ansar Anwarul.

Sources said that supporting blockade a protest procession was brought out in the area at around 07:30am and police protest them which triggered a clash, leaving 15 people injured.

Meanwhile, BNP activists vandalized a hotel and a branch of Agrani Bank.

Later, police fired seven rounds shotgun bullets and five rounds tear shells to bring the situation under control.

Confirming the matter Shailkupa Thana Officer-in-Charge Anwar Hossain told banglanews, “The situation is under controlled now.”
