OC among 25 hurt in Thakurgaon clash

THAKURGAON: At least 25 people, including the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of sadar thana, were injured in a clash between BNP men and police in the district Sadar on Sunday night.

The critically injured OC Firoz Khan was admitted to Rangpur Medical College.

Witnesses said while trying to obstruct a protest procession of Jubo Dal which was brought out from district BNP office, they locked into a clash with police, leaving 25 people including the Officer-in-charge injured.

Meanwhile, BNP activists hurled cocktails and petrol bombs aiming police, shops and the residence of district Awami League president.

When police failed to bring the situation under control, at first, Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) personnel and then army personnel rushed to the spot and brought the situation under control.
 
Confirming the matter, additional Police Super Belayet Hossain told banglanews, “The situation is now under control.”
