Shahid ‘Commissioner’ on 5-day remand

DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday placed Saidur Rahman Shahid alias Shahid ‘Commissioner’ granted on a 5-day remand in case for police interrogation.

Metropolitan Magistrate MA Salam passed the order after holding a hearing when Sub-Inspector of Gendaria Thana Atiqur Rahman produced him before the court with a 10-day remand plea.

During the time, the court also denied his bail plea.

Advocate Shahadat Hossain moved for the defendant while Assistant Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police Miras Uddin moved for the state.

On February 4, Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) arrested Saidur Rahman Shahid with three foreign made pistols, 62 rounds bullets and three magazines from Gendaria area of the city.

On January 2, RAB, in a drive at his residence, recovered two foreign pistols, two magazines, 12 rounds bullets and 23 rounds cartridges and detained one of his assistants.

A case was filed with Gendaria Thana in this connection.
