RAJSHAHI: Chhatra League leaders and activists of Rajshahi University of Science and Technology (RUET) unit locked the registrar’s room from 1:00pm to 1:30pm Saturday.

Later, they unlocked the room after a discussion with vice chancellor of the university.

Sources from the university said university syndicate appointed 10 candidates against the circular for four as ‘Data Processor’ on February 7.

Agitated Chhatra League men locked the door of the registrar as the syndicate members ignored the recommendations of them, sources added.

RUET unit Chhatra League president Raisul Islam told banglanews that the administration appointed their relatives in the recent time.

The authorities ignored their recommendations and this is why they locked the door of the registrar, he added.

Later, they unlocked the door after a discussion with the vice chancellor of the university, he also said.
