BNP seeks permission for rally

DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) sought permission to Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to hold rally on January 20 at Suhrawardi Udyan in the capital.

BNP assistant-office secretary Abdul Latif Jony, on Thursday, told banglanews, “Though BNP on Wednesday appealed for the permission to hold the rally but the authority is yet to permit.”

Earlier on Wednesday afternoon, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia declared fresh programmes.

 BNP-led 18-party alliance will stage mass rally across the country on January 20 and protest progarmme on January 29, the first JS session day of the 10th parliament, she added.

The rally of Dhaka will be held at Suhrawardy Udyan while a black flag procession to be brought out on January 29.
