People take oath to recover democracy

DHAKA: BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir categorically said that democracy loving people took oath to recover democracy with the ideology of late president Ziaur Rahman.  

He made the comment while talking to journalists after paying tribute to founder of BNP Ziaur Rahman’s, 78th birthday on Sunday morning.   

Mirza Fakhrul said that avoiding people will, in the name of democracy, the new autocrat government is trying to continue the power with muscle.  

He urged people of all sectors to save the democracy.       

Earlier, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia paid tribute to former President Ziaur Rahman, also founder of the party by placing wreaths at Zia’s grave in capital’s Sher-e-Bangla Nagar.
