6000 Jamaat-Shibir men sued in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA: Some 6,000 leaders and activists of Jamaat-e-Islami and Chhatra Shibir of Sundarganj Thana in the district were sued Sunday night on charge of attacking police.

Sundarganj Thana Officer-in-Charge (investigation) Mostafa Kamal filed the lawsuit mentioning 25 names.

He said that the case was filed for attacking police and obstructing them from discharging government duties.

Meanwhile, police held four Jamaat-Shibir men in this connection.

On Saturday night, Jamaat-Shibir activists attacked police when they went to Khanabari union of the upazila to detain accused, leaving at least 22 police men injured.
