DHAKA: The High Court on Tuesday granted bail to BNP’s five senior leaders including Moudud Ahmed for six months.

An HC bench comprising Justice Nizamul Huq and Justice Jahangir Hossain passed the order in response to different bail pleas.

Four other leaders are – MK Anwar, Rafiqul Islam Mia, Abdul Awal Mintoo and Advocate Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas.

As per order, there is no bar for the release of Abdul Awal Mintoo though four other leaders are facing a number of cases.

Barrister Rafiqul Haque, former attorney general AJ Mohammad Ali and Advocate Joynul Abedin moved for BNP leaders in the court whereas attorney general Mahbub-e-Alam and deputy attorney general Amit Talukder moved as prosecutors.
