DHAKA: Mohammad Abdul Jabbar and Atiqur Rahman have been elected president and secretary general of Chattra Shibir, student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, respectively.

They were elected at a central executive council meeting held in the city on Monday evening.

Later, they took oath administered by assistant election commissioner Nurul Islam Bulbul, also former central president of the organization, at the programme.

Abdul Jabbar, earlier, worked as the organisation’s secretary general while Atiqur Rahman worked as office secretary.

Shibir members, from all over the country, elected their leaders by casting their votes through secret ballots.
