DHAKA: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has formed 56 committees to strengthen the spirit of the party members.

The committees have been instructed to make a list of the persons who were active before and after the January 5 national election and people, who were killed and wounded during the anti-government movement.

According to the party sources, the list will also help select the upcoming leaders of the party.

To revamp the party, the BNP chairperson is also expected to start a nation-wide visit after 21st February.

BNP has also formed four committees to inquiry the torture on the minority communities across the country.

BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has instructed to form these committees comprising lawyers, journalists and educationists, among others.

The party will take, then, necessary steps after the submission of the report from the committees, according to the sources.
