DHAKA: Activists of Chhatra Shibir, the student wing of Jamaat-e-Islami, brought out procession in support of hartal in Khilgoan area of the capital on Thursday morning.

Sources said the hartal supporters brought out the sudden procession in the area around 8:00am and then set fire on the road. So, the movements of the vehicles were halted in the area for a while due to the pro-hartal march.

On information, police rushed to the place and sensing the presence of the police, the protesters fled the scene.

Dhaka city Shibir Secretary Monirujjaman along with East Shibir publicity secretary Abdul Kader led this procession from Khilgoan-Taltola.

Jamaat-Shibir is observing the countrywide shutdown for Thursday protesting the death penalty against its Ameer Motiur Rahman Nijami in 10-truck arms haul case.
