RAJSHAHI: A Rajshahi court on Tuesday sent BNP central committee member Abu Sayeed, also chairman of Charghat Upazila Parishad, to jail rejecting his bail plea in a case filed for uprooting fishplate of rail line.

Earlier in the morning, Abu Sayeed appeared before the court and sought bail.

Following the matter, Charghat Upazila unit of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has called a daylong on Wednesday at the upazila demanding release its leader from jail.

Sayeed is one of the accused persons of a case filed for uprooting fishplate of a railway track in Charghat area.
