DHAKA: The High Court Monday granted former State Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Muhammad Wakkas, also Secretary General of Jamiat Ulama-e-Islam and Islami Law Implementation Committee, on six-month bail in six cases on Hefajat mayhem.  

A HC bench comprising Justice Naima Hyder and Justice Jafor Ahmed passed the bail order after hearing of seven cases.

On September 2, last year, detective police arrested Mufti Wakkas from capital’s Malibagh area.

He is accused in 10-cases filed with Motijheel and Paltan Thanas.
