COMILLA: District (South) BNP withdrew dawn-to-dusk hartal for Tuesday in the district protesting sending of 11 Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal leaders and activists to lockup on Monday noon.

Confirming the matter, general secretary of district (South) BNP Haji Aminur Rashid Yasin told banglanews they recalled the hartal due to Secondary School Certificate examination.

We will declare fresh programmes after the examination is over, he added.

On Monday noon (February 24), a Comilla court denounced the bail plea and send 11 Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal men including president of district (south) Jubo Dal and president of district (south) Chhatra Dal to lock up in a BNP activist murder case.

On November 25, 2013, BNP activist Delwar was killed in a clash between police and BNP men.

Police filed a lawsuit with Kotwali Model Thana against some 19 Jubo Dal and Chhatra Dal men and 500 other unrecognized persons in this connection.
