BNP-AL clash injures 5 in Munshiganj

MUNSHIGANJ: Some five people were injured in a clash between Awami League and BNP men centering upazila polls at Bhattacharyarbagh Primary School polling center under Sadar upazila in the district on Thursday.

Local sources said that the activists of both the party locked into a clash over establishing supremacy around 9:00am after voting began, leaving at least five people injured.

District Returning Officer, also Additional Deputy Commissioner Sarwar Morshed Chowdhury said that additional law enforcers were deployed in the area to avert any unwanted situation.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Inspector of Sadar Police Station Yeardous Hasan said that the situation is now under control.

However, voting started at 8:00am and will continue till 4:00pm without any break.
