CHITTAGONG: A Chittagong court on Wednesday sent District (South) BNP senior joint secretary and businessman M Ali Abbas to jail in a money laundering case.
Chittagong Chief Metropolitan Magistrate M Mashiur Rahman passed the order denying bail petition.
According to Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) source Ali Abbas laundered Tk 45 crore.
Abbas was on bail from the High Court in a money laundering case filed by ACC. Later, in a leave to appeal, chamber judge had stayed the HC order and ordered Abbas to surrender to lower court.
