DHAKA: The BNP-Jamaat backed Jatiyatabadi Ainjibi Oikya (Blue Panel) swept the elections to the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) elections for the 2014-15 term by bagging 13 posts out of 14, including those of the president and general secretary.

Advisor of BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and Vice-Chairman of Bar Council Khandaker Mahbub Hossain was elected as a president and BNP joint Secretary General AM Mahbub Uddin was Khokon elected as general secretary.

On the other hand, the ruling Awami League-backed Sammilita Ainjibi Samannay Parishad (White Panel) secured only one post.

The convener of sub-committee election M Noor Hossain Choudhury announced the result on early Friday.
The elections were held on Wednesday and Thursday.

Earlier, BNP-backed panel won unanimously the last year’s election of Supreme Court Bar Association where BNP backed lawyers got 13 posts out of 14.   BDST: 1024 HRS, MAR 14, 2014
