DHAKA: BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia on Sunday expressed concern over jailing three top leaders of the party alleging that the country is being run by a whimsical ruler.

“Sending three senior leaders of the party to jail after cancellation their bail was oppression to them and it proves that the government is vindictive,” she said.

The concern came after a Dhaka court rejected bails to BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee member Mirza Abbas and its Dhaka City member secretary Abdus Salam in criminal cases of murder and arson attacks.

Khaleda Zia criticized that the activities of the government and expressed her concern over the contemporary political situation.

She also alleged that the government is killing opposition leaders and activists.
