4 candidates boycott polls in Monpura

BHOLA: Three chairman aspirants and a female vice-chairman candidate announced boycotting the election in Monpura upazila of the districts Sunday morning.

The announcement came at pres conference in Mopura Press Club at 10:45am hours after voting to the upazila election in 4th phase began at 8:00am there.

The candidates were chairman contenders – BNP-backed Shamsuddin Bacchu Chudhury and independent runners Rakib Chudhury and Razib Chudhury, and independent female vice chairman aspirant Yasmin Jahan Minu.

They boycotted the election due to extending influence on the polling centers, beating polling agents and casting fake votes.

District retuning officer Abu Sayed told banglanews, “He did not receive any allegation and no one informed him about polls boycotting.”
