Legal action against Khaleda necessary

DHAKA: Awami League Publicity and Publication affairs Secretary Dr Hasan Mahmud recommended for taking legal action against BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia.

Hasan was addressing a discussion on ongoing political situation organized by Bangabandhu Academy (BA) at Khaja Nizamuddin auditorium in Segun Bagicha of the city.

The former forest minster said BNP chairperson Khaled Zia and its senior vice chairman Tarique Zia violated the constitution and was hatching conspiracy against the country. Legal action against them is necessary, they should be arrested, if required, he added.

“In fact, Ziaur Rahman did not go to the 1971 Liberation War willingly, rather he joined forcefully. He did not fight there, he spied for the Pakistanis,” the AL leader said.

Presided over by Bangabandhu Academy advisor Chitta Ranjon Das, city AL vice president Fayez Uddin Mian, Samyabadi Dal leader Harun Chowdhury, among others, spoke at the function.

Earlier on Tuesday, Tarique Rahman claimed his father as the maiden president of the country and proclaimer of independence.

Moreover, BNP chairperson also claimed the same on Thursday at city’s Engineers Institution.
