‘CEC has no right to stay in power’

DHAKA: BNP standing committee member Gayeswar Chandra Roy Tuesday categorically said that Election Commissioner (EC) Abdul Mobarak has no right to stay at his post after his slanderous comments about Khaleda Zia.

Gayeswar claimed this in a press conference at the National Press Club.

He also claimed that free and fair election is impossible under the incumbent Awami League government and EC Abdul Mobarak, also currently performing the duties of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).

Senior BNP leader also said incumbent government and EC will get a place in the Guinness Book of Records for holding upazila elections without the presence of voters.
